@thesacramentozoo: On October 27, the Sacramento Zoo welcomed a litter of five from first-time capybara mom Peppermint Patty! The pups are healthy and already exploring their new surroundings with mom nearby! Baby capybaras are born precocial, meaning they are born able to see, hear, walk, and even swim just hours after birth! These are Peppermint Patty’s first pups.
