@chris_mf_craig: 🚨Dealerships are a SCAM!…. Or are they? Let’s dive a little deeper into the rage bait. (I think it’s rage bait anyways, could be wrong) Comment below what you think! #dealershiplife #serviceadvisor #mechanic #technician
She seems to think you’re required to say yes to all recommendations.

most Dealers I've seen recently have an alignment check done at check in. my last shop sold them at time of write up and then would ignore the other needed items because they had already done "some up sell."

I almost always do recommend maintenance earlier than they suggest. I want my vehicle to last much longer than the Warranty will last and there’s no doubt in my mind earlier maintenance intervals will help.

All we are doing is educating the customer on services and things needed! it’s up to the customer weather they want there car to run for 200k miles or 50k 😎

REDREPAIR :
I remember silent alarms would go off at $1800 dollars ( maybe $2500 now) $1800 can almost guarantee a approval, would look for missed combined repair times just to keep the price under or give away “Brake flushes” with 4 rotor brake jobs , hoses, belts , that didn’t effect labor time ( parts that had to be removed ) but had a tendency to fail or split after a repair . Extra insurance not to have a comeback. There are certain repair levels I wanted to be under to guarantee approval , unapproved jobs cost money, phone calls, estimate building , bay blocking , dead time for mechanics between jobs . Not having the conversation that their $2500 car needs $5000 in repair and still a $2500 car .
