Yes you are right but not entirely on this Ochanya’s case. Her family was not poor ! The government closed down the only school in her village where she stayed with her parents, that’s the only reason she was sent to her aunts place to be able to access the school in her own town . So now what do you expect the parents to do in a situation like this? Do you want them to move in the area that gives them money, a place they call home? That’s why they sent the poor girl to her aunts place , her own Aunt ! The government failed Ochanya not her parents !

How her heart races when school is about to close, how fear gripped her when I sees them without anyone else at home, how her body reacts to it each it it happens because definitely she didn’t want it, how her mind thoughts of different ways for God to save her and make it stop, how many times she catches infection because people like victor and his dad aren’t clean, how she struggled to focus academically, how she was laughed at for peeping on herself even in brought day light. Imagine the life of torture a child was subjected to because she wanted an education and a bright future 💔

It’s not about raising a child at home,it’s about being aware of your surroundings and watching every of your child’s movements carefully,I was raised at home but my mum’s brother lived with us and many things went down right under my parents and siblings nose till when I was able to stand up for myself,long story short,he is dea*d now.
