Andrew Gosden was just 14 years old when he disappeared from his home in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, on September 14, 2007, in what has since become one of Britain’s most enduring missing person mysteries. Described as a quiet, intelligent, and academically gifted teenager, Andrew lived with his parents and older sister and was known for his love of video games, music, and mathematics. That morning, Andrew left home as if he were heading to school. Instead, he withdrew £200 from his bank account, walked to Doncaster railway station, and purchased a one-way ticket to London King’s Cross. CCTV cameras captured him arriving in London at around 11:20 a.m., carrying a small bag. This brief appearance remains the last confirmed sighting of him. In the days and weeks that followed, Andrew’s family and police launched an intensive search, distributing thousands of flyers and making public appeals. Investigators scoured CCTV footage across London, but no further trace of Andrew was ever found. His Oyster card was never used, and there was no evidence he checked into a hotel or contacted anyone upon arrival. His sudden disappearance, without his passport or any spare clothes, left detectives baffled. Over the years, numerous theories have circulated. Some have speculated that Andrew may have gone to London to attend an event or meet someone he knew online, while others believe he may have wanted to spend time alone. However, none of these theories have been proven, and police have never found any clear explanation for why the 14-year-old made the journey that morning. In 2021, detectives made a fresh appeal for information and arrested two men on suspicion of kidnapping and human trafficking in connection with the case.
