trotsky's theory of permanent revolution strikes as imperialism fighting imperialism. you cannot artificially inflate other country's revolutionary parties if the people themselves are not at the point of wanting the change. this is why China takes a very egalitarian approach to foreign policy and trade with country's its trying to trade with. propping up coup de tas in other country's is paramount to imperialism in and of itself and its something that The USSR fell into itself while trying to stand against western imperialism in the middle east and with many countries in europe, and guess what happened when the USSR failed to adapt effectively enough to bolster its economy? the rest of the smaller socialist countries fell as well. you cannot create an empire to fight an empire. all that does is bolster the violent power of the state which leads to reformists and anti-revolutionaries infiltrating the cause.

I think the historical record is clear. Where Trotskyism gets bogged down in centralized authority and "transitional" states, anarchist communism shines with its commitment to freedom and direct organization. It's why I remain an anarchist and reject the Marxist-Leninist path.
