@keeperofthewolves: Big day for my Whisper♥️🐺. There is absolutely a chance if you get a high content wolfdog, you will not be throwing them in a car and hauling them to the vet when you need. A mobile vet may be your savior. Whisper is getting spayed today. I have the greatest mobile vet, and he works on wolfdogs regularly. Only option for her is to do it this way. Here’s a few things you need to consider when finding a vet for your wolfdogs. 1. You gotta find someone you trust that works on Wolfdogs. They are a different animal than your domestic dog. 2. Mobile vets are not always readily available. You should find your vet before you even consider getting your animal. This is a mistake I made with mine. 3. You may have to schedule months in advance as mobile vets can be very busy. 4. You can expect to pay more than you would to take your dog to a vet. This should go without saying. 5. Don’t assume because your High Content was social as a puppy that they will grow up and love all strangers. Definitely not always the case. You may be the only one that can put hands on your animal. So for today’s procedure, had to arrange all animals differently, met the Vet outside to get the sedation injection, had to get Whisper out of an enclosure, away from a male who has very intense seasonal changes and is very protective of her, brought her inside and sedated her, waited for the sedation to take effect and we carried her on gurney to mobile Vet Mobile.
