@thefitnesschef_: People are told that maltesers are bad and bananas are good. But neither statement is correct. Here’s a more scientific breakdown of these two foods and their individual impact on our health and body composition. A packet of maltesers and a large banana contain the same amount of calories. However, here are some noteworthy differences: The maltesers contain 20g of sugar, but the banana contains 40g sugar - double the amount. The maltesers contain more protein than the banana. The banana contains more fibre than the maltesers. The banana contains significantly more potassium than the maltesers. The maltesers contain significantly more calcium than the banana. The banana contains significantly more additional nutrients than the maltesers. But as interesting as these individual fact are, they won’t define your health or composition. Here’s what actually defines it: 1. Your overall diet 2. The amount of calories you eat 3. The amount of exercise you do 4. The amount of alcohol you drink 5. The amount you smoke 6. The amount you vape 7. The quality of your sleep 8. The quality of your relaxation 9. Your volume of stress 10.Your genetics All of a sudden eating a packet of maltesers or a banana in a single eating episode doesn’t seem that important in relation to overall health outcomes over time. With this practical context in mind, you can now ignore those who demonize individual foods and eat them in peace. 🙏 #snack #maltesers #nutritionist
I wish more creators would be as pragmatic as you about cooking and diet 💪

Refined sugars are more likely to trigger cravings for more refined food. So while one packet of Maltesers doesn’t make you fat, eating processed foods like that trigger cravings which there makes me eat more food in general. I choose the banana.

Banana contains fiber, potassium, and vitamins, which slow down sugar absorption. Maltesers spike blood sugar quickly due to refined sugar

Consume an average of 2,300 calories per day, but make sure to burn at least 300 calories daily through vigorous activity. Forget the gym if it’s not your thing, go for brisk walks, take the stairs, or park a bit farther away. The key is consistency; do it regularly, and you’ll stay clear of unwanted weight gain.
What you eat is your call. Humans are creatures of habit (and a bit stubborn), so there’s no point in preaching about how to spend your 2,300 calories.

Artery clogging saturated fat in malteesers 15g per 100… very high. Artery clogging fat in bananas, almost Zero. Refined sugars in malteesers lots.

No one eats two bananas, we all can eat multiple of those maltissers packets and then the banana as desert. That’s the actually problem, not the calories.

Aren’t maltesers designed by food scientists to be as addictive as possible in flavour, texture and balance between salt fat and sugar and therefore making them irresistible the more you eat them? The banana on the other hand…
