It's funny, all over tiktok is saying wake up to feed, but Midwives says wait till the baby wakes up and cries to be fed.

I lost two pints of blood having my first and the next day the nurses sat me on the end of the bed, walked off and I collapsed.

The first night was awful after a c section, wanting milk every hour unable to move and pressing the buzzer so someone could help me feed her 🥲

I got so lucky when I gave birth. The hospital were doing an 8 week trial of letting partners stay overnight. I was dreading that first night on my own but having my other half there with me, especially having had a cesarean was a lifesaver!

It’s to do with their blood sugar can go too low if not fed regularly

It was probably the second night I was left alone with my boy and I was so terrified, I hadn’t slept in days and just had a c section and I’m being expected to look after something so small and fragile? I cried because he got a heat rash and I felt like the worlds worst mother ever so I spent a total of 4 hours putting warm water on his legs to calm him down. I’ll never forget it those nights in the hospital

If baby is gaining weight as they should be let them sleep is the advice, you shoukd only be waking babies up if they are gaining weight from their other feeds

I was told to wake up every 3hrs or so until they go back to birth weight. I didn’t need to as he woke up every 2-3 hrs anyway. However my doctor said at my 6 week check up regardless of weight if he was sleeping 8-8 I should feed him at least once during that time. He doesn’t sleep that long anyway so not had to worry about that 😂
