@abdulhalim.k.p.d.143: I had the privilege of attending the High-Level Conference on the Situation of Rohingya Muslims and Other Minorities in Myanmar, held on 30 September 2025 in New York. I joined in solidarity with my fellow Rohingya refugee advocates, who reminded us that return without rights is not a solution. Calls for premature repatriation remain deeply concerning while conditions in Myanmar are unsafe and accountability remains elusive. Over a million Rohingya remain displaced, the vast majority living in precarious conditions in refugee camps in Bangladesh and across the region. Many have been languishing in limbo for years — stateless, without access to formal education, livelihoods, or freedom of movement. Humanitarian funding shortfalls are worsening, leading to ration cuts and reductions in essential services. The longer the international community delays durable solutions grounded in rights and dignity, the more these communities are pushed further into insecurity, despair, and isolation. Despite strong words from many states, we continue to see a lack of concrete, enforceable commitments. If the international community is serious about justice, it must listen to Rohingya voices and act on their demands — for safety, citizenship, accountability, and meaningful participation. The crisis is not over.
