Here’s another thing that went right! The multicultural club at my school has been raising money to install wells in small villages in Africa that previously didn’t have clean or sustainable water to drink. We raised money through a coffee bar in the mornings(one dollar per coffee), events like Fall Festivities(one dollar per entry, with lots of tables, each celebrating a different culture’s fall tradition. Ex: origami, sugar skulls, dancing, etc.) and selling cookies once a month(also one dollar per cookie). We’ve raised almost 1000 dollars and a team has already started building wells! (Pretty sure we send the money to the team and they use it to build the wells, the team isn’t ours)

Unfortunately the renewable energy being more than coal isn’t as big of a win as they are making it seem. Coal usage hasn’t gone down any, so in reality we are using more every than ever before, not replacing coal energy with renewable energy 😕
