@samanthad513: Welcome to America. Where we quite literally can’t afford to LIVE. Forget preventative care cuz even with insurance we can’t afford it. #healthcare #openenrollment #healthinsurance #america #governmentshutdown2025
my husband got to work his dream job and I sucked it up and worked a soul crushing job to get the insurance. sacrifices need to be made when you have kids.

One of you needs to get a corporate job so you have benefits. Then the other can be self employed. Best of both worlds for a family. Not an option for everyone but this seems to be the best solution for a lot of families right now.

I just learned about direct primary care where you pay a monthly fee directly to the doctor and can get everything you need done. Google some in your area. I am seriously considering going this route this year

As a family of 5, I basically went from being a SAHM for 15 years to back to work full time for insurance for our family. I pay over 700 every 2 weeks for my health insurance, basically half of my check, and let’s not get started on our deductible it’s over 2,000 per person and 7,000 for the family.

Look up Direct Primary Care in your area. It might be worth it for next year. It doesn’t cover emergency stuff, though. Something to investigate.

My family of 4 pays over 1500 a month. Our quote from work is 1800 a month for next year, with a 5,000 deductible and 75 copay. We can't afford it but i have chronic health issues and without my medications I will be dead in a year, maybe 2. I am also a therapist and preparing for my clients not to be able to afford services. I have already developed a plan that will hopefully allow me to see them once a month but I have some that need weekly support. I have no idea what to do personally or professionally

The ACA has always been more expensive then our Employers insurance. Thru the ACA my meds would be $30,000 for the year. I pay $140 for the year currently thru our insurance. My coworker was saying she pays $60 a mth for insurance but when she needed an MRI it was $800.
I haven't looked at any new cost, these were prices 2 years ago. 😞

I won’t have insurance after December. I won’t be able to afford it anymore. We live in a 3rd world country that has convinced us it’s a 1st world one.

I'm so sorry, this is absolutely insane. I cannot imagine living like that. It's probably more unrealistic than ever but that system needs to change...
