@furahameansjoy: The way white people and Europeans are able to float in and out of “peope of color” status as their hearts desire and then drop it when it suits them is always fascinating to witness 🥲 #larosalia #berghain #spanishmusic #palop #iberianpeninsula
Why are gringos having an opinion about Rosalia? When we Latinos love her and admire her

What's wrong with artists changing genres and experimenting? Do you think Cowboy Carter was racist or cultural appropriation?

Guuurl, get yourself a real problem. You’re so eager to tell us how to feel as Latinos when you don’t even speak Spanish.
An gringa who isn’t Latina trying to tell us what to do — there’s nothing more Yankee than that.

girl im a spanish black girl and i promise you that is not that deep💀 Rosalia became famous for mixing flamenco (a genre she studied for years btw) with other genres such as reggaeton. her career has been based on taking what she already knows and experimenting with it and that is colonialist ??? experimenting with classical music is racist?? At this point you just be saying anything. rosalia is one of the most outstanding hispanic artists of this generation you guys can’t stand that just cus she’s not latinamerican. stay mad.

Are you Latina? That music genre is not from Spain. Spaniard music is called Flamenco. That’s just another music genre from another country

the only reason people say "cosplay latina" is cause most latino awards went to her instead of actual latinas. however, latinos LOVE Rosalia. Especially Mexicans. That's our daughter frfr

As a Spanish born and raised girl, it pains me to see Americans that have not listened to a single Camarón de la Isla song and the entire lives act like colonizers and then complain about colonizing listen to the people from the countries you are talking about before making such harsh judgements. And please, for those who say that flamenco is not related to Spain please make your research. Flamenco dance draws heavily from Spanish folk and classical traditions, with many steps and gestures originating from Andalusian festivals and rural celebrations. The refined hand movements, footwork, and posture reflect Spain’s classical dance style. Andalusia’s diverse cultural mix — Spanish, Moorish, Jewish, and Romani — provided the foundation for flamenco’s evolution, while the Spanish Catholic Church and social hierarchies influenced its emotional depth, emphasizing themes of suffering, faith, and redemption seen in cante jondo songs.

How cute that’s you talk about Spain and latins even when it’s hardly possible you don’t even know where Spain is. She never claims she as a Latina ( but historically she is) Latin world claim her winnings to afford more artists.

US commentators always feel disconnected and pretty patronizing cause they always try to put the racial views of the US to Latin America. Has Rosalia taken from Latin culture? Yes, not in an appropriating or cosplaying way but cause Latin culture is tightly woven in Hispanic society through catholic traditions and aesthetic, so it feels natural. When you see EL MAL QUERER and even MOTOMAMI you can see she’s always been influenced by catholic imagery and mostly traditional Spanish music (and she’s doing the same with LUX she’s not doing anything she hasn’t done before) which she blends with urban Latin genres (which she’s always been vocal and honoring go see any of her interviews she’s pretty aware of where do their music references come from) so this conversation is Americans trying to tell Latin people how to feel about their reality and repeating the very same problems yall claim to be against.
