I did a full g it job and the valves were specific to the fixtures (Kolher Purist line). And the Kohler they sell at Home Depot ≠ the Kohler from an actual plumbing store

This is what I was terrified of happening to me so I went to a Ferguson showroom and the girl just loaded every correct valve to my order that I needed based on my fixtures. Lifesaver.

First photo is a single handle Moen brand. Either moen 1222 or the older moen 1225. If the handle rotates for both temp and flow control it's 1222. If hand pull OUT to control flow and rotates for temp it's the older 1225.

Yes, you must figure out the brand. Each brand has their own unique valve and trim selection. Take a photo to Ferguson in vista. They’ll help you. Cheers 🥂
