@itskatiesoule: FOR THE RECORD: 1. The doors open towards each other, yes the DRYER door can be flipped; however the WASHER’S CANNOT (I made a video showing this). 2. The first video was asking about longer water/drain hoses so I can switch the positions of the appliances themselves (to be like most homes) how you see this in this video is how you’d see them if you were standing there. 3. The hook ups are behind their respective appliances as they sit now (shown in video) 4. We did not install them, the previous home owners built this home custom & I don’t know why they put the dryer + hook up on the left & washer + hookups on the right. 5. Yes, I realize this is a first world problem, but this is TikTok, so if you’re here for anything other than entertainment, you should find a different app. Hope this clears some stuff up! Thanks! #Home #homeowner #viral #followup #funny
Ok but why am I the only one who thinks the washer is always on the left and dryer on the right?

I thought the path for the dryer vent was supposed to be as straight/short to the hole in the wall as possible? Wouldn’t switching them and extending the vent and creating sharp turns make it more of a fire hazard?

I own that same machine, and it is possible. But don't worry, I won't "man-splain" it since you've got it under control.

So, you’ve clearly lost the definition of mansplaining.

My house is this way too, we bought an Electrolux washer that has a door that can actually be flipped, unlike all the others.

Never in my life, have I seen the dryer on the left and washer on right. Too bad you can’t switch them, the doors would be perfect! 😣

If you flipped the dryer door, would it make it easier or is it no change since you still have to go up and over the washer door? (I skimmed, sorry if you answered this!)

Some of them have reversible doors

Simple solution: Step 1: open the washer and empty the clean clothes into a basket. Step 2: close washer door. Step 3: Open the dryer and put the clothes in. No need to worry about which way they open.

Oh my goodness, my hookups are backwards too and it drives me insane. I did just get longer hoses so that it could be washer then dryer.

Ok… so just swap the dryer door so it open against the wall… problem solved

Why do you need both doors to flip? It seems like you just need the dryer.

you should probably just move

I would buy one of those metal rolling baskets like they have in laundry mats. Then just put you wet clothes in that to get them to the dryer. I think it would be easier since they are the same height as the washer door.

I’m sorry you got all these very unhelpful people in your comments. Yes they make long dryer vent tubing and washer hoses.

My husband said this is an easy fix and confirms you are correct with just need longer cords and hoses. He’s been selling/installing appliances for almost 10 years now. Suggested calling someone cause you’ll need at least 2 people to move the machines

Same issue. Looked into same solutions. It’s been 7 years, I think I may just buy new appliances at this point

When we moved, I had the same frustration with our front loaders. I could only swap one door so it wasn’t fixable!!!! So when they started messing up I was SO HAPPY to replace them with top loaders!!!!

Did you try removing both doors and just leaving them off?

Why doesn't anyone understand that you want the doors to not block the area between the 2 machines .. I feel like your ultimate goal is to be able to open both machines at the same time, and then pull from one into the other, without a basket, or moving/going around the doors, correct?! First world problem? Sure. Still valid? Also yes.

But if you can move one door wouldn’t the problem be solved? Then they would go the same way and not hit each other?
