Day 11 of 100 Days of Wisdom for the Young When Friends Reject You💔 Not every friendship will welcome you. Yes! Sometimes, because you choose to stand for what’s right, you’ll be rejected, sidelined, or mocked! You may even be nicknamed or addressed as “not cool,” or “too strict” because you choose to maintain your righteous standards. It hurts when you’re left out. It can feel like rejection. Jesus Himself was rejected (John 1:11), not because there was anything wrong with Him, but because everything was right. HE said “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.” (John 15:18). So what do you do when your peers don’t want you because you won’t compromise? 1) Check your heart. Are you being rejected for righteousness’ sake (Matthew 5:10), or because of a bad attitude? If it’s righteousness, then rejoice! 2) Recognise the Real Reason they rejected you. Many times the rejection is less about YOU and more about what YOU STAND FOR. Light exposes darkness. Your stand may have reminded others of the standard they’re ignoring. In such casesc don’t take it personally. 3) Don’t bend your values. Rejection hurts, but compromise hurts more in the long run. Losing temporary “friends” is better than losing your destiny. 4) Never forget you are accepted and loved by God: Seek God’s validation, not man’s. He calls you His friend (John 15:15). His acceptance is enough. 5). Find your true tribe. Stop looking for friendship in the wrong
