I lived in Iran for 12 years and loved ghormeh sabzi but most of my other non-Iranian expat friends hated it. I think it's an acquired taste if you don't grow up eating it.

Actually spinach is not traditional. May Iranians who live outside of Iran add it to cut down on the cost of the herbs we should use.
