Biggest Formula 1 crashes COMPILATION. Robert Kubica – Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Canada 2007. The BMW Sauber driver approached the hairpin on lap 26 and hit the back of Jarno Trulli’s Toyota. He then lost part of his front wing and hit a bump in the grass by the side of the track. This saw the nose of his car lifted into the air. Kubica’s BMW then hit the sidewall and cartwheeled across the track before hitting the opposite wall. Kubica was not seriously injured in the crash. Sergio Perez – Circuit de Monaco, Monaco 2011. In the third part of qualifying Sergio Perez, exiting the tunnel at about 175mph and on the wrong side of the track, veered to the right and hit a barrier. Improved safety regulations resulted in Perez's injuries being less severe, as he escaped only suffering a concussion and a sprained thigh. Maurício Gugelmin, Thierry Boutsen – Paul Ricard, France 1989. Gugelmin locked his brakes and veered into Boutsen's Williams and Berger's Ferrari. The March launched into the air, flipped upside down and clattered against the barriers. Romain Grosjean, Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso – Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium 2012. Grosjean made a good start and moved up to the inside of La Source, squeezing Hamilton between himself and the pitwall. The two touched wheels, both drivers losing control. Grosjean then speared into the back of Perez and became airborne, crashing heavily into Alonso, missing Alonso's head by a few inches. Romain Grosjean was fined €50,000 and was given a one-race ban at the Italian Grand Prix for his role in the crash at the start. Jarno Trulli – Silverstone, United Kingdom 2004. Exiting the high speed Bridge corner, Trulli's Renault suffered a suspected suspension failure sending the Italian spinning off to the right. After a huge rearward impact with the barrier that destroyed the back of the car, Trulli rolled once before coming to rest in the gravel trap. #Formula1 #Formula1Banter #formula1sport #formula1grandprix #formula1car #formula1racing #formula1track #Formula1Champion #formula1drivers #formula1news #Formula1Team #F1 #f1racing #f1jokes #f1memes #F1Humor #F1Banter #f1meme #f1fans #f1cars #F1Car #crash #crashes #crashf1 #crashcars #crashedca
