@interstellar_isabellar: One of the most beautiful ornamental traditions, that combines history of Indigenous Mexico, Spain, China, and even Moorish culture…Here’s a video from an expert on the Indigenous history: @Isabella Segalovich I hope everyone had a blessed Día de Muertos ❤️ #díademuertos #diadelosmuertos #papelpicado #mexico #folkart
I made this a while ago hence some of the clunky design here but I hope you still enjoy!

Love this! Thank you for spreading the word about mexican culture, a small detail. “Día de los Muertos” is a deformation of the re-translation of Day of the Dead from the original “Día de Muertos” it is not wrong, per se, but it is not the term we use, it is one that is gaining a lot of popularity given the USA domination of media and culture. (It is also a key way to spot papel picado that is not made in Mexico). To most Mexicans who live in Mexico, it does “sting” a bit. I know the chicano and migrant experience of the diaspora might be different, but we really do prefer to maintain the term “Dia de Muertos”.
