he tanked 15 seconds staring at it, sprinted full speed directly after, broke 5 blocks of stone with his hand, wrote the next person to have his world a warning to not turn left, had to edit it out causing him to stare at it for another 30-45 seconds. he tanked at least 45 seconds to a minute of this thing and still had the idea to warn the next player of the danger

an added detail to further show the skills of d3rlord in the context of the story: the whole motif of “don’t turn left” happening because he keeps turning left is actually an indication that he’s been playing the game for 15+ years, because old minecraft players used to always go left when navigating caves to make sure they could get back out in the times of alpha/beta cave gen, since they used to be FAR harder to navigate and torches were less useful. this implies to me that being intelligent and aware of what is happening around you actually makes you an easier target for this world’s king in yellow
