This reminds me of the video I saw where someone did paleontology about if T-Rex could nibble its own tail and also, did it? We may never know, but the exploration is adorable.

For the Therapods it's very likely, since we still have therapod dinosaurs alive today (birds). As for non therapods, I'm not sure. Homosexual behaivor doesn't seem common in reptiles outside of birds and the all female lizard you mentioned.

Quick correction! The offspring of whiptail lizards (and other lizards who do parthenogenesis, like komodo dragons) are genetically distinct from their mothers! Animal reproduction is so cool and diverse, and there are so many options for how dinosaurs reproduced and raised their offspring!

The Crochet Wizard 🍄 :
I'm very curious how evolution led to animals adopting others, theres no benefit (that I can think of) of doing that, since the genes are not carried on to the next genes, and so the behaviour isn't either. Like how could that behaviour be established in the first place as a possibility and common behaviour in the species if the lives that were saved doing this did not have that specific adaptation, since they are adopted ?
