Yall!! This was way more gory than the movie by the same director. Honestly, I see Muschetti also listened to the criticism he received years ago about the book portrayal of Mike Hanlon being to political cause of his scholarly adeptness. That was some bull. But Muschetti truly ate that criticism, challenged himself and this truly fits the time. His portrayal of the Hanlon’s in the 60s. ✅ . I really also loved How Mrs Hanlon might have a shine to her?? She sees through the glamour that makes everyone ignore the abuse of the kids.

After episode 2 I was extra sold lol. This series is doing things I wish the movies would have done. I like those movies but I feel like at times they were still holding back on some of the gore.

Stunned. I expected the worst, but the shocks are visceral and disturbing, acting clicks and sets/CGI look like $100M. FINALLY a horror series that gets the pacing right.

For me, the opening scene was so exhausting that I fell asleep two nights in a row. I had high hopes for it after all the buzz but it felt like it relied solely on “shock factor” yet… wasn’t as shocking as it was predictable and underwhelming. I’ll be giving it another try after your review.

I don’t want to prematurely complain, the pacing feels a little bit off, but I understand they have to build the world, as well as build the story, so rushing. It could also be bad. I just felt like it had highs and lows with my attention. But I’m optimistic. It’s going to be good, so far many more pros and cons.

I got a spoiler for ep 1 in the first comment section I opened about this show, I’m usually careful but wasn’t sure if I was gonna watch it. So sad that I missed out on the shock of the ep 1 twist!
