I previously worked at a hawker centre and coffee shop. The employer kept all profits and made me handle most of the work. There were no bonuses, low pay, and unpaid leave during Chinese New Year. Even medical leave wasn’t paid — I had to cover my own medical expenses. The workload was heavy, but the rewards were very little. I have worked no self belonging.
