I struggle with this level of closeness to complete silence. It breaks my heart thinking about the person whom I was most vulnerable with. I feel crazy feeling how I do knowing they hold zero regard towards me or my sadness. All I can do is stay away but it feels worse than a death.

A friend of many years - someone I considered a best friend - approached me for a relationship last year. He ended up dumping me (over a year later) and saying a lot of cruel things about my body and appearance. Tried to be friends again but it was me putting in all the effort, so now we just don’t talk anymore. I guess it’s for the best considering how he acted but I miss my friend. We were so close and I’m having a very hard time with not being a part of each other’s lives anymore.
