I think one of the most beautiful truths about life in Christ is this: we start from It is finished. We are not running toward completion; we are living from it. Grace doesn’t rush us forward; it roots us in what Jesus already perfected. And that’s the beauty of it all. It teaches you to rest into who God already called you. When I was a kid, I somehow knew I was going to write a book. I would scribble stories and drama scripts in my JSS notebooks, most of which I never finished. Words just had a way of finding me. Fast forward to university, I still didn’t take writing seriously. I wrote whenever inspiration came, even without direction. I never called myself a writer because I always thought what I had wasn’t enough. Yet people would read my work and say, “You write so beautifully.” Then grace found me. Not the kind that pushes but the kind that anchors. The gospel of God’s grace gave my words direction. It showed me that I don’t have to strive to be enough because Christ already is. And now, somehow, everything has come together. I have gathered my poems, and my first chapbook is on the way. It is Christocentric, and if I am being honest, it is beautiful. Not just because I say so, but because everyone who has worked on it says the same. It is not out yet, but this is what happens when you rest.
