I don't know which companies you researched to come up with this conclusion but every manager I have worked with has indepth knowledge of the job and industry. The clueless ones usually work for the government and get those jobs due to nepotism

I’m ok with it. I’m there to get paid not to rebuild a company. You think stakeholders don’t see that? Not gonna try to reinvent or fix what’s not mine. I’m playing the game. I keep my loyalty for real friends and family, not the forced ones. I’m just a number to them and that’s the way it should be.
