We had to sit at the table until we ate everything on the plate and we weren’t allowed to say what we didn’t like/eat. My daughter can say she’s full and throw the plate out and I already know she doesn’t eat fish eggs or mashed potatoes

We weren't allowed to use the dishwasher because my grandmother stored her cigarettes in it. In our house we don't body shame. There is no bad food. There is food that is good for the body and food that makes our brains all excited. We don't make our kids weigh themselves and we don't shame them when they aren't skinny. And if they don't finish the food on their plate that is fine. I have a terrible relationship with food because of how I was raised.

If they were not speaking to another adult in the house, I was not allowed to either. There were years where I would sit next to my favorite aunt and not be allowed to talk to her. 😞 I would never make my kid do that.

This one may be weird, but I don’t ask my kids to make me/bring me something to drink or eat . I am an able body. I can get off my behind and make my own. Plus I fix my husband’s drink and food (because I want to; not that I have to) I’m 41 and when I see family for the holidays my parents, aunts, uncles, etc. STILL think I should bring them things from the kitchen throughout the day. 😳 I’m grown with a family of 5. lol
