my mum willingly went back to work after a near-fatal car crash and whilst being in active psychosis, knowing it would be good for her mental health; however, this was back when wages were.. yk.. actually fucking liveable. now her job is worsening her depression, for obvious reasons? sick people are the opposite of lazy and if they can't/won't get a job, it is not their fault, it's the fault of systemic inequity. real laziness is liz kendall mouthing off about people who receive pip whilst also being in part-time work, despite doing absolutely zero appropriate research on the topic 😶🌫️

Lol as someone who believed that idea, masked my autism for years and worked full time , I can confirm that the job market is toxic to neurotypical people let alone autistic people, and I can also confirm that I am now chronically sick

Watch the suic*de rate rise now. They seriously have no clue because they live in a world that is so far removed from the majority's real life and have no experience, empathy or understanding of what just managing feels or looks like. It's bullying on a huge scale, when mental health services simply aren't fit for purpose!

To be totally fair. Since getting my full time job I’ve definitely grown more confident and happier because of that. It’s like exposure therapy I guess

I do not disagree that work can help with depression for some people in some circumstances but forcing people into work without robust mental healthcare and support for people in work and this won’t do what they think it will. It’s an oversimplification of a complex issue
