@notmy1st: Repost// Sometimes I wish I never became an editor. Looking back I made some cool stuff, all in the name of “selfish art”. This was before I understood what separated myself from the normal editor. I was only worried about the art aspect. Now when I make something my standards are set so unbelievably high as an “editor” I don’t enjoy it like I use too. It feels less like art and more like superficial and way less emotionally impactful. I’m going to try to do better and bring the art and meaning back into my videos but sometimes I just miss the way things use to be 😕

bro, i felt so hard with that caption. u are one of the main 2 or 3 editors that made me want to use my experience in video production to make edits. never stop bro, this is natural when you hone a skill for so long, take ur time and make what’s fun/satisfying for you ❤️

found this post beautiful when I first saw it, and when I read the caption, I really resonated with you. I have another account where I’m an editor too, I started out of pure love for it. Then, as I began getting more views, I started focusing too much on the little details... so I stopped. I plan to come back when I can do it out of love again. [Warning//Tangent] I feel like this with regular pencil to paper art. I've seen all these fantastic and "impossible" pieces from people who are YEARS into their practice and it makes me deathly self critical. I haven't grabbed a pencil and sat down to draw in months. I needa be honest your caption made me realize that I needa draw for myself, to create sum I like, not for others to marvel at what I made but to see my own growth as someone who can view their own work objectively
