I am so sick of my gentle teacher coworkers. I am ALWAYS forced to be the rule enforcer, consequence giver, bad guy and I HATE it. I am so nice and the kids love me but the other teachers just let them do whatever they want and I will not allow that

I start out my day as the gentle one but can quickly change to the other one. I don’t like that side of me, but sometimes she has come out because of the disrespect from the students.

You need a “good cop” teacher and a “bad cop” teacher team bc the balance is crucial. Bad cop teacher disciplines and has “scary” aura and the mom stare down. Good cop teacher praises when they listen and comforts

For the last time (Jhc) that is PASSIVE parenting! Being passive means you are essentially letting yourself be a doormat. Gentle parenting has clear boundaries that are enforced with age appropriate explanation, sometimes yelling depending on the situation that’s then followed with conversation.
