I know I will get hate for this, but I could not finish Addie Larue. Tag teamed reading it and listening to it, got to 77%, which is a whole lot of pages because it is huge, and I DNF’d 🙃 I figured if I wasn’t invested by then, I would never be. After discussing it in book club, I could appreciate the ending, but I just found it slow and uncompelling. 😬

The Invisible Life of Addie Larue was really good. I think I’ve got the same critique that everyone else has and that is that it drags a little in the middle. The book could’ve been about 50-75 pages shorter. Twenty Years later was on my tbr for a hot minute. Initially it was hard to get into but after the first few chapters I was hooked!

Addie LaRue is really good but don’t look at it as “fantasy” like you normally would. It’s more realism type fantasy with a twist. I think you will like it.
