FA here If an aircraft’s oxygen masks deploy and it descends rapidly from 36,000 feet to 10,000 feet, the most likely reason is a loss of cabin pressurization. The oxygen masks automatically drop to supply passengers with oxygen until the aircraft reaches a breathable altitude. Pilots are fully trained to handle this kind of situation. There are four oxygen masks above every row, as well as masks in the lavatories and galley areas. That’s also why there can only be one lap infant per row since there’s only one extra mask available. If there’s more than one infant, there must be an empty seat in between so that everyone has access to a mask in case of a loss of cabin pressure.

In 1997 I had a bad experience flying from Phuket to Hongkong. The plane dropped for 2 times and all the passengers are screaming. I was crying and praying hard. I developed my anxiety from then. I still travel tho. 🙏🏽😊 I hope everyone are ok. 🙏🏽

Fun fact pilots train very heavily for this very scenario. Everything from dropping altitude to get to safe level for oxygen to relaying the May Day over the radio and emergency landing 🛬 glad to see everyone made it.
