Bobby pens are supposed to be used that way most people actually use them incorrectly, but The little pokey thing goes inside in the flat park goes on top.

i mean, that’s just the way you’re supposed to use bobby pins in general not just in dance lol. the ridged part goes against your head for grip, if you use them the other way they’re less secure. i never thought about the ridges reflecting light though.

Interesting! I haven’t heard that but I’ve been told it’s better to put the ridged part down because it holds onto the hair better 🤔

If you don't open them hardly, or at all, when put them in hair, they hold better. Ridges up or down affects hold, also.

I was also taught to make Xs with the bobby pins for head pieces so that the second one pinched the first pin tighter.
