Aren't active duty soldiers still being paid? They haven't missed a paycheck yet. Federal civilians will miss 2.5 paychecks by this Friday.

Hi! I never stated in this that active duty we’re not paid. However, this hasn’t been guaranteed and no legislation has been passed to ensure they will be moving forward (unlike other shutdowns). I am also highlighting here how crucial federal workers are to military readiness and their family resources.

Yes a million times over. My husband is a veteran and federal employee essential worker helping to repair navy ships..not getting paid but going in. We went through savings due to our AC going out this summer... so we are scared right now. This needs to end.

If my husband was in the military and I was in the same situation, I’ll just get a job at McDonald’s until things change. I don’t understand why people just don’t get a regular job.

Furloughed family readiness (AF) employee here. My job is to provide services and resources to military members and their families and it sucks that I can’t do my job when it’s needed most 😢

I agree these military personnel and their families need to be paid to take care of their family and if not they will have a hard time living if someone dosent agree they probably have plenty of money to have for thier needs and pleasures just my opinion

Yes! My husband and I are both federal workers. He’s furloughed but I’ve been lucky enough to be in an exempt position. So we’re still getting my paycheck. Some have it so much harder than us, with getting no paycheck at all. I’ve been with the federal government for 19 years, my husband even longer, and it’s hard to believe we’re seeing a shutdown last this long.

Agreed!!! As a mom to a 20 year old who went in at 17… he doesn’t have a lot saved. We have to help him. He’s PC’s 3x in 2 1/2 years and they pay for it themself and never get reimbursed the full amount. I feel for those with no family support.

Absolutely this! military wife as well. we are currently PCSing (he had hard copy orders in June of this year) still being forced to move WITHOUT DLA OR ANY MONEY bc there is no one to process it. but we still have to go...right at the holidays.

Ok so who do you blame then? Republicans voted YES to the CR that democrats had no problem with months ago. Democrats voted no over holding up failing Obamacare and kept it held up for 40 days. You don’t hold government hostage over policy change… Obama said so himself. I see you liking healthcare for all post. But you are also against the government being closed you are contradicting yourself. I agree healthcare needs a major reform but this was NOT the way to do it. I also HAVEN’T received a paycheck in a month.
