I mean its a red eye flight? She was maybe asleep. But also sometimes people fly for a sad/stressful reason 😭perhaps something sad or traumatizing happened to her and shes stun locked

Airplanes are one of the realest life places, someone is going on a honeymoon, someone is travelling with their loved one who is dead, someone can't wait to see their family they haven't seen in years, someone is going for holidays, it is someone else's first day on a plane, I could go on. All of us trying to reach our destination. BE KIND!

I was a flight attendant. There was a woman on the flight who did the same, without headphones, and the seat next to her was empty (but it was a paid seat). She didn’t even put anything on the empty seat. Turns out she was overseas with her son for surgery, her son didn’t make it. And she was flying home without him.

I did this once, and at the end of the flight the guy sitting next to me asked if he could give me a "dad hug" and told me everything would be ok- I had just found out I was pregnant.

I was on a flight to my bsf’s funeral and desperately wanted to sink into the seat and disappear. This sweet elderly lady next to me was going to visit her big sister, who was her BESTIE. She feared it might be the last time cause they were both so old. I cried when she asked where I was headed. She was such an angel. She also asked if she could give me a “Nana hug” when we departed ways. She brought me so much peace. I always wonder how many more visits you got, Dorothy. 🫂

My dad found out at the airport that his papa passed away from a facebook post. My mother told me he cried as silent as he could during the entire flight. He was on his way to see him one last time, a few hours too late

I went to visit a boyfriend oversees in Budapest, and he broke up with me before I left. I cried on the plane all the way from Budapest to Frankfurt, and when we landed the guy beside me asked if I was okay. I said I was. He said are you sure? I said yes, but I knew he didn’t believe me- and then we went out separate ways. Frankfurt plane fellow, I still think of your kindness 20 years later.

I did that once. I was traveling around the world for 8 months. In the first month, my aunt, who was like a second mom to me, got cancer. At first, it didn’t look too bad. She really didn’t want me to stop my trip. She told me to keep going and live it for her. I often talked to her on FaceTime during that time. Then suddenly, the cancer got worse, and 5 months later she died within a few days. I wanted to do what she wished, so 2 days after she died, I didn’t go home. Instead I flew from Thailand to Bali, even farther away. It was the hardest flight of my life, but above the clouds, I felt so close to her.
