@sobermomming: I want to be honest here. We didn’t get it perfectly right. Eeeeek. It’s wild what happens when human desires trump obedience but I know I’m not alone here. After we decided to go celibate, we slipped once. And that was hard. Not just because of the shame I thought I’d feel, but because I realized how real the battle is once you’ve said yes to obedience. But we got back up & recommitted so we’re still celibate. Jon’s been incredible in this season. He’s not Catholic, but he’s honoring this call with me. That’s what real leadership looks like. & I think sometimes people assume obedience means perfection, but it doesn’t. It means humility, repentance and taking action in trying again. And it’s not just about the act, but it’s about realigning ourselves to the why. For me, that’s obedience. It’s trusting God’s design. It’s knowing that when I said yes to aligning my life with Him, that included this part too. I used to be so afraid of what people would say if they knew, but the fear of judgment doesn’t get the final word. God’s grace does.
