"what are they gonna do, bing it" YES. I UNIRONICALLY USE DUCKDUCKGO (bing underneath) AND I CAN NEVER GO BACK TO GOOGLE. IT ACTUALLY WORKS. the image search is a bit worse but otherwise? miles ahead

Vivaldi browser and Ecosia as search engine here. It's not perfect because it's reliant on Google Search, Bing and other existing services (same with DuckDuckGo, Qwant and Searx), ideally we want a new service entirely disconnected from them, but that would require way more effort to set up - maybe something with archive.org as primary source to avoid adding another crawler?
