I'm Chinese, I've lived in Japan and UK and I don't understand where in shanghai are you staying to say that it is cleaner than Japan or even UK for that matter. Are you like leaving your hotel or any tourist areas at all?

The UK and China are too big for either to be brushed with one color. You should be more specific. For example, cleanliness varies in different areas of London, or between London and Edinburgh. If you like China then great and good luck, but no need to slam the UK in the process.

I just travelled to Asia, in all the Chinese cities I went to, it was spotless everywhere. I went to Tokyo and there was a pile of rubbish right outside my hotel (in Shinjuku).

I just got back from China, idk how they did it but Shenzen streets smelt like I was in a high end scent shop. Like all the streets smelt like an expensive diffuser was pumped into the air. The speed and convenience is next level too. Every taxi I ordered was here in 1min, every shop just had a barcode you scan and you order to your table or to pick up, even as a tourist because the apps are all translated I could order anything easily.
