I just wanted to share this in case it’s helpful — if not, no worries at all. TAKE SHELTER NOW if conditions become severe: move to an interior, windowless room or a basement — but only if there is no rising water. If water starts to rise, leave immediately! Stay away from windows and exterior walls, and remain sheltered until officials confirm it’s safe to come out. Expect a period of prolonged heavy rain, very strong and potentially damaging winds, and an increased risk of flooding, mudslides, and landslides. Some areas may become cut off for several hours or even days, with possible power, water, or communication outages. Bring everyone — including pets — indoors and keep them together. Move valuables, important documents, and medications to higher ground or take them with you if evacuation becomes necessary. Charge your phones and power banks, keep flashlights and spare batteries ready, and prepare a small emergency kit with water, non-perishable food, essential medications, identification, cash, and a first-aid kit. Avoid traveling or driving unless absolutely necessary — and never drive through floodwaters, as even shallow water can sweep a vehicle away. If water levels begin to rise or the ground feels unstable, move to higher ground immediately and stay away from riverbanks, steep slopes, and low-lying areas. Secure or bring inside any loose outdoor items that could be lifted by the wind. Check on elderly, disabled, or isolated neighbors if it’s safe to do so, and share this message to help keep others informed. Follow all official instructions and evacuation orders without delay, and stay tuned to trusted weather and emergency updates. Do not enter flooded buildings or touch floodwater — it can be contaminated or electrically charged. Keep in contact with family and friends to let them know you’re safe. Sending strength, calm, and care to everyone affected — please stay alert, stay safe, and look out for one another. 🙏🌧️⚠️
