@travellingnepali: Today we headed to Jeju Island expecting to watch the legendary Haenyeo — the fearless women divers whose legacy is captured in the documentary The Last of the Sea Women. But the show got cancelled. While we didn’t get to witness the dive live, knowing their story — how these women free-dive in icy waters, hold their breath for minutes, and support a matriarchal tradition in Jeju — made the moment meaningful anyway. What’s interesting: many people around the world are discovering their history through streaming (and if you haven’t seen it yet, the documentary is worth it!).
