Not a movie but a series - The Magicians! The tv show is immensely better than the books. One of the very few times where the adaptation surpasses the material

Fried Green Tomatoes: The movie is 100% better. In the book Ruth & Buddy never dated so the whole plot about trauma bonding between Ruth & Idgy only happened in the movies

I teach the book and it’s far and away the most popular text of my career. When we’re done, we watch the movie then do a film study with it. It’s pretty cool to be able to get the story on film from the author. Two fantastic standalone pieces of art.
