A duty that you are instructed to do might fall under the scope of your employment.But it is in your job description. them you may follow that instruction. just like an example you made.But you can't ask an accountant to paint the wall, I believe that's why some of us are still arguing with you on this matter.

I hear and understand you but we as health care professionals governed by Health profession council of South Africa there is always an issue between instructions and the ethical code of the profession. It is always difficult when you have a manager who's not registered with HPCSA and doesn't understand the ethics of your profession 😞😞😞

as an IT employee, my employer ask me to accompany other colleagues to a certain event, can I refuse? secondly there is a funeral of a colleague on wikend, my employer assign me to be a driver, can i refuse and say wikend is family time for me?

just to pick your mind! The instrction is lawful and reasonable but affects your performance in your KPA. You also raise this on your 1st instance of the i struction but carried it out but it becomes recurrent and increasing your responsibilities! Would it be insurbodination if the employee refuses to continue taking taking the same instruction.
