The big beautiful Bill did not, underline the word not, take away subsidies. There’s no gray area there. The end of subsidies was written into the affordable care act back when Democrats wrote it. If you disagree, feel free to cite the bill, page number, and paragraph, of where Republicans took away the subsidies. All Republicans are doing is letting the affordable care act play out the way Democrats wrote it

You failed to mention that Trump said, how about giving the money to citizens to use to choose their own healthcare rather than paying insurance companies and keeping them rich.

Democrats just want to sign this for a year, so we can do this all over again in a year—during (surprise, surprise) the midterm elections.

Under that plans Democrats get to make it a big 2026 election issue. Republicans can’t have that obviously.

The Republicans vote yes to open the government, it's 100% the Democrats fault. Those subsidies aren't in the Big Beautiful Bill. *They expire due a Democrat set expiration date

Extend it by 1 year and then it’ll hang over them come election season. That was a political move

No negotiations until government is opened back up!!! They had several years to figure something out about healthcare but they wait until it’s too late to start talking

I’m not on entire side. I did feel the Democrat proposal was fair and a way for both to win and reopen government.

Voting no yesterday truly showed that Republicans did not care how many people starved until Midterms to get their agenda passed. Democrats had to make a decision and that was to at least feed the people until Midterms

I’m not even American and I can tell you republicans already look bad, it looks like they are betting on democrats having more heart for the people and giving up first. Honestly the whole world is watching and rooting for democrats right now.

It’s not like the republicans said a couple weeks ago that they would negotiate the subsidies after the Dems voted to open the government and their rejection of the one year extension proves they had no intention to actually negotiate at all. 🤪

The enrollment period for medical insurance is right now. And there are no subsidies, correct? Why are not more American screaming about the increased cost? If it’s there, why aren’t the Republicans listening to their constituents?

Extend it for the year for the hope of a congress shift in the next election as it will be the main voting point. I wish they would just let ACA die I miss capitalistic healthcare where it was cheaper for us consumer

Years ago Republicans were in the wrong for trying to use the shutdown as leverage to repeal Obamacare. Now Dems are in the wrong for trying to repeal BBB. You don’t use the American people as pawns to push agendas.

and when asked if the 30 billion should be given to Americans individually instead of paying insurance companies, Democrats said no. why do they want to continue that Insurance companies scam?
