Love how people can eat expensive food safely on the street in a tent but the homeless have their tents ripped down and their belongings thrown away and their limbs freeze off and have to be hacked away with a bone saw. Edmonton’s a truly grotesque study in contrast.

God I hate comments on anything I’ve to do with Edmonton! Protip as someone who has lived in many major NA cities in the past 15 years before coming home to roost: your city is what you make it and I can tell you this city has both some of the kindest people I’ve ever met, but also a huge proportion of the most negative mfers I’ve never met. And hell yes this includes both Toronto and Mobile Alabama amongst others. This city is goddamn beautiful if you open your eyes to seeing the beauty instead of just the symptoms of the homeless/hopelessness issue (we actually have such a low vagrancy population compared to many other cities our size and with a comparable economy). Go take a walk to the river valley and stop for a coffee at any of our wonderful downtown coffee shops sometime, you’ll be surprised - especially at how unrough it is on Jasper compared to what you’ve heard.
