I’m really into etymology, so I need to let u know that orange is originally a Tamil word. It went from narangai in Tamil to naranga, narang, then into Europe with naranja, to norange (it’s now ‘un orange’ in French) into orange in English. And then it went back to India so we say just say orange

Years ago our kid (I'm Desi raised here and married a yt guy) had a school project that asked "what are some family-specific words in your house?" We told him "dubba." He looked up "dubba in Marathi" on Google and it told him I was wrong. It's "KUN-TAY-NER" (container said with an Indian accent). Kid tried to tell me Google was right and I was wrong. 😭
