Yup I knew I was different from about 6/7 always tried to fit in never could was always the one sat alone and now I’m so chronically ill from the trying to fit in masking and childhood trauma from a narcissistic mother plus I was late diagnosed with Autism & Adhd I’m 55 so the last 49 years have been mentally draining ☹️

If I heard, “why can’t you just be a good girl? Why can’t you just be normal?!”once, I heard it a thousand times.

I believe many of us have deliberately been misunderstood and misrepresented and been gas lighted into think oh they misunderstood me but some times people have misunderstood many

Imagine a world where we were just left to be ourselves. It’s wild that this is a foreign concept. We want to shove people into these schools where they just have to sit for 8 hours a day. I know that killed my creativity and originality. If I had things my way, I would have just sat in math class and learned ALL DAY.

This a true. But if you’re lucky, you find your tribe of either like-minded souls or people who just appreciate your honesty, off beat sense of humour and loyalty. And they stay with you for life. The moral—find your tribe with whom you can be you. The rest don’t matter.

I noticed immediately that my son was exactly like me. I am trying to give him the support and understanding and opportunities to be the best of himself. Giving him what I never had growing up. I call us high octane with quirks. We focus and build our strengths while learning coping skills for the negative side effects. The kid is thriving in a society that is kicking my neurodivergent mind
