Honestly I’ve been thinking about monarchy after reading Leviathan in that if everyone willingly submitted to a single ruler with acumen that the stabilization of state and interpersonal conflicts would be reached but I have consistently loved reading about direct democracy and even the argument for authoritarianism against human natures is kind of contradictory in that you can’t guarantee a ruler to always act in the best interests of the public: they could become easily corrupted or mentally diseased. It seems pretty obvious how monarchy is bad in that sense but it’s an idea that has been strange for me to swing across when I’ve been jumping across books with such contrasting ideas

Social democracy is capitalism. People should really learn the difference between economic systems/modes of production and the ideologies that maintain said economic system. Everything from social democracy to literal fascism are ideologies that uphold and maintain capitalism. Not to say a social democrat is "the same" as an actual fascist, of course, but they do both serve capitalism in various degrees.
