As a Salesforce nerd, this is totally my reality. Also, Agentforce sucks.

So how do we find the companies that do have their data stacks on track?

Is the data not ready for Al or is AI just not ready for this type of data?

I’ve worked with data for more than a decade in various roles and capacities. Cleaning data, getting disparate data from difference data sources will always need manual work. Ai isn’t close to resolving the Isssue of cleaning data and providin quality data.

So many companies are just a series of ad hoc procedures on a disparate collection of excel files; they are 20 years behind on technical infrastructure, no shoot at AI working.

Yeah, with salesforce, totally not surprising. A companies internal CRM rarely has the same care given to it than any other system database. Most SFDC admins would combust if they were hold to the same standard a typical database engineer would be held to.

I was in an AI course with my company. I tried 3 different agents with prompts. They were pretty easy ‘asks.’ AI failed me all 3 times at the easy task. Pretty sure its because of what you just stated

Can you cover context rot and Claude history as a possible solution to this. I restart prompting after a certain amount of time but am now seeing Claude going back to review the chat

This is so true. Consolidating data and cleaning data is so important. And I got the leadership to agree but nobody is giving the resources. So I am stuck with under the radar stuff but it's so frustrating.

Boring data work is fundamental to the functionality of any Ai tool, but there are many nerds 🙋who don't find it boring to clean, prep, identify algorithm , feed, process and analyze data. I can't understand any ceo who would be in denial of what their whole product and projects are actually based on

It depends on what you’re using AI for and the type of organisation. I don’t need my data to be AI ready for AI to have an impact on my business. Using it for large document summaries and legal research is far more valuable than worrying about data analyst style use.

Brilliant, brilliant viewpoint, my friend. Nailed it. 10/10. And throw in the fact that AI that has small context windows and must be expertly retrained on those disorganized technical/data stacks/constraints every time they die 😭
