Got permission from a buddy’s mom to hit hard some emotional damage for the Paladin and Barbarian (brother and sister in our game) by getting their grandfather’s last words to them. Halfway through the fight the BBEG taunted them with those words and followed up with “Oh yeah, the last pathetic worm that said that drowned my blade as well. No matter, there’s room enough for your blood on it too.” Oh… the tears… the rage… the hugs afterwards… The doctors that say you can’t heal from emotional blockages playing games never played DND before.🫡

a giant parasitic worm that fed on a giant tree filled with energy. it originally couldn't speak. until it was frozen in place for a moment and one of the party members said fight back. so it copied the same power used on it to freeze the party and it spoke through rows of teeth to say "Fight Back"

The most sadistic thing my DM has said so far was when she told me that she was intentionally avoiding attacking my rogue because an errant attack could instakill him at lvl1. And then the first attack after the party hit level 2 downed me in one attack. So sadistic? Yes. Honest? Also yes.
