My family makes this exact same recipe except instead of jalapeños and hot honey, we use raisins and oatmeal. We also don’t use any cornmeal or corn—we tend to use flour and brown sugar. We omit the cheese and instead of cooking it in a skillet we use the oven and bake them. And we tend to eat this side at dessert time. But it’s so cool to see a classic family recipe of mine on Tik Tok!
