XIV would also end up with players organising "Hunt Tours" where mobs of players gang up on the strongest monsters to get big rewards. Quite the social activity!

It was also a way for them to bring in a streamlined version of the Notorious Monster system from Final Fantasy XI. Many B and A ranks are named after NM's from XI.
